Quick Favour
I have a favour to ask, take a look at this.

Now, sign this petition to Change The London 2012 Logo
How can going from this (our Candidate city logo)

to that be an improvement?! I mean the colours they chose alone are enough to make me want to cry! It’s like a bad 80s MTV like logo.
I always get afraid when the eyes of the world are drawn this way (to the UK I mean not to me specifically). I feel like a parent at an event who really hopes her kids will sit still and behave while knowing they’re going to thow a tantrum as everyone else looks on.
The last time we held anything impressive was the Commonwealth Games which all went well and I breathed a sigh of relief… and then the last ‘great’ idea of the closing ceremony was to turn the stadium into a club complete with moron DJ’s, embarrassed looking athlete’s and ‘woot-woot’s’. I hid under the sofa until it all went away.
And it’s a sporting event so no fear there then. I mean, our fans are a picture of self restrain and fair play whenever they go abroad? Right?!
But the logo… Oh God…. Please let it be a really late April Fool’s joke. Please!
Okay, my civic duty against the UK embarrassing the crap out of itself again… I have DVDs to watch.
Update: The petition is now hovering at 50,000 signatures – in 2 days. Sign… sign… sign…

Who in their right mind would choose the first logo over the second? That’s hilarious (and kind of sad).
You know what happened don’t you? The work experience kid suggested that one for a laugh, but they went with it so as not to hurt his feelings.
thethinker – with the fear of sounding all I don’t knoe something I know! It makes me want to weep into my entirely English cider.
yorksdevil – I swear, I swear, I will hunt down that work experience kid and beat the crap out of him. With something heavy and unfunny!
Hmmmm, it took me a while to figure out what it actually said. Bleaurgh.
Bleurgh indeed – it just makes me want to cry every time I look at it.
[...] sorted out which logo we are using now – this Union Jack version is soooooo much better than the unholy crapola that was the pink one. Yes, I may be changing my mind on the logo. Yes, I can change my mind if I want [...]
